HSG282 regulations for Hot Tub in Holiday lets and commercial environments. The HSG282 has been introduced by the HSE to ensure Hot Tubs used in a commercial environment meet certain standards and can offer the bather and
user a safe and pleasant experience.
The HSG282 regulations summarised:
- The water capacity of the spa must be equal to or exceed 250
litres per bather seat.
- The spa should be capable of turning over and filtering the total
water capacity of the spa within 15 minutes.
- The spa must have a built-in sanitisation system. Floating tablet
dispensers are not recommended. FROG system for example.
- The spa should be fitted with an Ozone and or UV system.
- The spa should not be equipped with an air blower.
- Waterfall features and any pipework which allows dead legs (can
be switched off and cannot be purged) are not recommended.
- A 24-hour or High Flow filtration system is recommended.
General maintenance
Fresh / new water is required with each new set of guests.
The water should be tested and recorded twice a day and chemicals adjusted as necessary.
Records kept for 5 years.
New / Cleaned filter with each new guest.
Regular system flush for pipework.
Monthly microbiocidal testing.
